Getting Ready for Camp
Listed are items that are ESSENTIAL for Camp Ozark. In choosing your camper’s clothing, keep in mind that because he or she will be involved in energetic activities daily, comfort and freedom of movement are most important. Laundry service is available on an as-needed basis for all 14, 21 and 28 day campers. Campers are advised to bring a 14 day supply of clothing for all 14, 21 and 28 day sessions and an 8 – day supply of clothing for all 7-day sessions. For your convenience, Camp Ozark is offering a pre-packaged, camp clothing option that includes everything campers need to bring with the exception of undergarments, blue jeans and shoes. Camp Ozark is located 6 miles west of Mt. Ida, Arkansas (40 miles west of Hot Springs, Arkansas) in the scenic Ouachita Lake and Mountain region of western-central Arkansas. Transportation to Camp Ozark is available by private automobile, chartered bus from several prominent cities, or commercial airline via Little Rock where campers are met by chartered bus and transported to Camp Ozark. Because a large number of our campers come from Texas, we arrange for specifically designated flights originating in Houston and Dallas and terminating in Little Rock to be staffed by Ozark staff members.
Private Automobile
While our staffed charter buses and commercial airline offer convenient transportation options, families may choose to arrive/depart camp via private automobile. Our Opening and Closing Day logistics are designed to make the parents and campers experience as smooth and efficient as possible. Both valet service and luggage service are provided to all families arriving camp via private automobile. In addition, all camp families departing camp via private automobile are parked and loaded in our satellite parking lot and shuttled to camp on one of our 8 shuttle buses. Fast Pass parking and VIP service is available for all camp families. All Fast Pass revenue goes to support OZONE, a year-round student mentoring and discipleship program, and is tax-deductible.
MoreLuxury Charter Bus
Camp Ozark offers fully staffed luxury charter bus service from several cities in a five state area (Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas). Several of our camp families take advantage of this extremely convenient and economical travel option. Also, it is a great way to kick-off the camp experience as campers meet new friends and connect with the Camp Ozark staff on the trip. Commercial Airline
With 124 flight arrivals and departures each day, the Little Rock airport provides non-stop jet service to 16 national/international gateway cities. Many campers arrive from around the country and from international departure points. Parents may book flights in conjunction with Camp Ozark's pick-up and drop-off windows. Upon arrival, all campers are greeted by Camp Ozark Staff and escorted to our fully staffed charter bus for transport to Camp Ozark. In addition, Camp Ozark offers fully staffed commercial flights from Houston Hobby and Dallas Love on Southwest Airlines. Private Plane
For camp families arriving via private aircraft, both Hot Springs (KH03, Runway Length 6595 ft.) and Mount Ida (Bearce Airport 7M3, Runway length 4000 ft.) offer convenient options for arrival and departure. Camp Ozark offers shuttle service for all camp families arriving at the Mount Ida Airport for arrival and departure. For families that choose to land in Hot Springs, most major rental car companies provide options for travel to Camp Ozark. MT. IDA AND HOT SPRINGS LODGING
Camp Ozark is located in a very scenic region of Arkansas, an area considered by many as a vacation destination. As such, there are plenty of lodging options in the surrounding area. Options range from very basic fishing cabins, to standard hotel rooms, to luxurious Bed and Breakfasts and Condos. Furthermore, you may choose to be on the lake, in a secluded wooded area, or in downtown Hot Springs. The listings below are but a sample of the options available. Consult the Mt.
