Brad Hoeksema

Originally from Kingwood, Texas, Brad’s first summer at Camp Ozark was in 1995 while he was a sophomore at Texas A&M University. Brad fell in love with the Ozark experience and found a passion for working with kids of all ages in a Christian camp setting. His love for Ozark brought him back for the next eleven years as a counselor, Head Boys counselor, Top Staff, and, after graduating from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Science, as a member of the Permanent Staff.

After spending six years on the Camp Ozark staff as an Assistant Director, Brad went on to spend the next twelve years in public education as a coach, teacher, and principal. Brad received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from West Texas A&M University in 2011. Throughout these years, Brad and his wife, Ana, stayed involved in Camp Ozark in a variety of ways and, in 2018, made the decision to return to Camp Ozark on a full-time basis.

Brad, now an Associate Director, helps oversee Team Competition, assists with the Morning Program, and is involved with helping ensure an incomparable camper experience. Brad is also very involved with staff recruitment and training. His hope is that every camper will gain self-confidence through competition, cultivate life-long friendships, adopt an enthusiastic approach to life, and most importantly, pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Having seen first-hand the impact Camp Ozark has had on his own three children, Brad has a true passion for the mission of Camp Ozark. Brad also has a real gift for relating with campers young and old, as well as being a natural servant-leader for our staff.

Beyond Ozark, Brad is passionate about baseball—particularly the Texas A&M Aggies, the Houston Astros, and the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoys reading, traveling, playing golf, hiking, and fly-fishing. His greatest joy is the adventure of being with his family.

Brad met his wife, Ana, at Texas A&M University in 1995. Married in 2001, they have three sons, John, Jack, and Jude. Brad and Ana both work full-time for Camp Ozark and welcome any opportunity to help campers and families fully experience the Camp Ozark difference!
