Each summer over 4200 kids choose to spend a session or more at Incomparable Camp Ozark, exploring over 400 acres of beautiful, forested terrain, participating in more than 120 activities, during our 11 week camping season. 4200...400...120...11. All important numbers to be sure, but it is our unique philosophy at Camp Ozark that the only number that really matters is the number "1", which represents each individual child that becomes a part of the Ozark family.
Our mission, our philosophy, our core values and our efforts all focus on investing fully in each individual child and family as if they were the only "1" at Camp Ozark. Why?...because although deep down we "might" admit that the one, two or three weeks that kids spend at Camp Ozark may not be "the most important" time of their life, to us it is. Our program has been refined over the years to carry out our mission.
Our Incomparable Summer Staff is at the heart of the Ozark experience.
Each and every summer, Camp Ozark employs over 550 of the finest college-aged young people in America as members of our Summer Staff. Camp Ozark recruits summer staff from over 40 different schools and universities, with recruitment beginning in mid-October and continuing through February and March. If you are interested in finding out more about this exciting, challenging and rewarding summer opportunity, please see our section regarding
Camp Ozark instilled the confidence in both Roy and myself to go out and start our own business. If you have a young camper that might want to be an entrepreneur, the leadership skills and values learned at Camp Ozark are invaluable.
I'm blessed with 3 very unique, involved, loving kids. A friend asked whats your secret? I told her (and honestly believe) that Camp Ozark has been a huge factor in the development of my kids.
I cannot begin to convey how pleased I am with Camp Ozark. EVERY single person I dealt with was professional, kind, enthusiastic - it was like being at Disney World at camp.
To say Hugh had a wonderful time is such an understatement. He had the TIME OF HIS LIFE! What a spectacular experience for him - and for us. He grew up so much in just one week.
According to Ryan it was the best 2 weeks of her life, which was of no surprise to us. We are looking forward to attending many more closing ceremonies in the future.
I tend to worry a little more about him, due to a severe food allergy; when I arrived, the nurse made me feel like he was so protected and safe, and my worries about that issue were gone (that never happens!).
