Alana grew up in North Little Rock and White Hall, Arkansas. She got connected with Camp Ozark for the first time in college when she met her (future) husband, Travis. They married in 2008 and have been serving together at Camp Ozark ever since. They welcomed their son, Josiah, in 2013 and he has flourished because of his time as a “camp kid” at Ozark. When it’s not the summer season, the Tarkintons can be found cheering on Josiah on the baseball field, basketball court, or golf course. They are avid Arkansas Razorback fans and love to travel. And Alana loves serving in the Mount Ida community in a variety of ways: teaching elementary Sunday School, volunteering at the local theater, and helping with the Mt. Ida chapter of Ozone Ministries.
