EACH SUMMER CAMP OZARK HIRES UP TO 8 COLLEGE-AGED YOUNG PEOPLE TO SERVE AS NANNIES FOR THE YOUNG CHILDREN OF CAMP OZARK PERMANENT STAFF. THESE CHILDREN SPEND ALL SUMMER AT CAMP OZARK, AND MOST OF THEM ARE TOO YOUNG TO BE CAMPERS. NANNIES HAVE THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO USE THEIR LOVE FOR CHILDREN, CARE-TAKING ABILITIES, AND DESIRE TO SERVE IN ORDER TO ASSIST THOSE PERMANENT STAFF WHO HAVE CHILDREN.
The overall responsibility of a Camp Ozark Nanny is to help care for and supervise the young children of Camp Ozark Permanent Staff. Daily Nanny duties include, but are not limited to:
- Caring for, working with, and playing with the children of Permanent Staff, ranging from babies to 12 years old
- Integrating the children into the regular camp program when possible (i.e. swim lessons, crafts, Special Events, etc.)
- Coordinating with the Permanent Staff families regarding schedules, pick-up and drop-off times, etc.
All Nannies can expect to learn valuable lessons in child care, working with parents, and interpersonal skills. All Nannies work under the direction of full-time Camp Ozark staff, as well as alongside the parents of the children. Through their service, Nannies play a crucial role in the experience, ministry, and outreach of Camp Ozark. All necessary training is provided, though experience working with young children is preferred.
Finally, all Nannies get to work in an exciting, kid-oriented Christian environment alongside other talented and passionate college students. The hours are long and the work is challenging, but the job is very rewarding!
